Fun in the sun

Well I just got back from my brothers wedding in Maui. We had a blast,
what a beautiful place to get hitched! Now that I’m tanned and relaxed
I’ll mention some upcoming things on WHG ;)

If you haven’t already I suggest checking out our antivirus.exim

this little gem but it’s definately something you should consider
getting use to tinkering with.

I’m interested in knowing what kind of other things you’d like to see on
the site. More tutorials, interviews, reviews? Are you guys/gals after

I’ve also been working on my own custom rulesets for antivirus.exim and
mod_security which are real nice and blocking a lot of new attacks out
there.

    Maui - great place to tie the knot. Was just there myself a couple of months ago and am already itching to get back.

    This site is a brilliant resource. The tutorials are particularly helpful. One thought would be - although forgive me if I’m wrong, you know your users better than I do - is to have some tutorials about the kinds of things a cpanel useer might need to do that the Control Panel can’t - i.e. some basic ssh walkthroughs.

    For example, I was having an issue this morning with not being able to connect to the mysql socket. Turns out that there was a rampant mysql process that needed to be killed, and mysql restarted. cPanel support handled it for me, but I’d love to read a guide on how to use ssh to connect to mysql, see the processes that are running, and kill whatever needs to be.

    There’s probably tons of stuff out there, but they seem to presume a lot of knowledge. And it seems to me a typical cpanle user might be using the control panel because they’re not a hardcore linux genius.

    Just a thought - and I could be way off base. But I find myself coming back here often to bring myself up-to-speed.
