Ping! Zine Sponsors HostingCon Putting Contest, Announces First Ever Web Hosting Charity Golf Tournament
DENHAM SPRINGS, LA (June 14, 2006) – Ping! Zine Web Hosting Magazine (http://www.pingzine.com), the longest-running and most popular print magazine for the web hosting industry, announced today that it is sponsoring a putting contest at HostingCon 2006 (http://www.hostingcon.com), offering assorted prizes including $1,000 cash as a grand prize.
The contest, to be held at booth #411 in the exhibit hall, is also being sponsored by the Web Host Magazine and Buyer's Guide (http://www.webhostmagazine.com) and DesignVAR (http://www.designvar.com). All HostingCon 2006 attendees are eligible to enter, and contestants who successfully putt one ball from a selected distance will be entered into a drawing for an opportunity to make the grand prize putt, to be held on Wednesday, July 19 at 2:00 PM in the exhibit hall. Qualifying for the grand prize starts Monday, July 17 at 3:00 PM.
“As a company based in Louisiana, I think it’s safe to say we spend too much time on the golf course as it is,” said Keith Duncan, Ping! Zine publisher. “But we’re still very excited to bring the excitement of golf to this year’s conference.”
Ping! Zine also announced today the initial details of its first ever Ping! Zine Charity Invitational Golf Tournament, to be held in New Orleans in Spring of 2007. The tournament will benefit the non-profit Shriners Hospitals for Children network, an organization that provides medical services free of charge to children nationwide.
“As we begin planning next year’s event, we are looking forward to the positive impact it will have on not only the charity it will directly benefit, but also on the entire city of New Orleans as it begins to recover from the hurricanes of 2005,” said Duncan.
Pre-registration for the event will be available at the Ping! Zine booth during HostingCon. More details on the Charity tournament will be announced in the coming months.
