World's Largest Dedicated Hosting Provider Deploys Cyclades Out-of-Band Infrastructure to Enhance IT Administration Efficiency, Expand Hosted Services

FREMONT, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 4, 2005-- Cyclades Corporation, the leader in next-generation IT infrastructure management, announced today EV1 has completed its deployment of Cyclades out-of-band infrastructure (OOBI) products in its data center. EV1, the Houston-based Internet Service Provider (ISP), is the world's largest provider of low-cost hosting services. Cyclades AlterPath(TM) remote IT administration appliances, which include Cyclades-TS3000 secure console servers and AlterPath PM10 intelligent power distribution units, enable IT administrators to remotely access, diagnose and restore disconnected IT assets. By nearly eliminating the need to physically touch equipment to restore network connections, EV1 reduces IT operational costs, while increasing IT asset and personnel productivity.
With its uniquely designed data center that provides high-performance computing and hosting services at compelling prices, EV1 is setting the standard for the growing hosting industry. EV1 stands apart from other providers by enabling customers to remotely manage hosted equipment by using a customized management application exclusive to the Houston-based company. Cyclades products integrate with EV1's management application, providing the customer with comprehensive administrative access and enhanced control over hosted servers.

"EV1 has a history of leveraging technology advances to deliver powerful, reliable hosting services at an affordable price for today's businesses," said Robert Marsh, founder and CEO of EV1. "The combination of our management application with Cyclades AlterPath System provides our customers with greater control and value, extending our competitive advantage over other providers."

Cyclades products are built from the same core technology foundation. As a result, individual products can be seamlessly integrated with other Cyclades appliances into a complete remote IT administration system.

EV1 has integrated AlterPath PM10 remote power appliances with Cyclades TS3000 secure console servers, allowing administrative control of each IT asset from a single, consolidated view. By linking EV1's custom management application with the Cyclades system, EV1 hosted customers gain remote administrative control of their leased servers, without any need to physically visit the data center.

"Cyclades has a long history of working closely with customers to provide OOBI solutions adapted to meet unique remote IT administration requirements," says Daniel Dalarossa, Cyclades CEO. "The EV1 deployment demonstrates the power and ease of deployment of our systems approach, along with our ability to adapt to customer needs to deliver business value."
